  • Scavenger Hunt on the iPad–see below (30 min)
  • Socrative/Discussion — Why iPads in the Classroom? (45 min)
  • Workflow for Classroom Work (120 min)
    • Google Docs/Drive
    • DropBox
    • BREAK
    • QR codes and short links
    • iMovie
  • Challenge!–see below (45 min)
  • Socrative Exit Ticket (5 min)

Scavenger Hunt (hint: if you’re not sure, ask a friend or ask Google!)

  • Rotate iPad for both Horizontal or Vertical view
  • Lock & unlock the screen orientation
  • View most recent applications
  • Turn the speaker volume up or down
  • Find the Sleep/Wake button
  • Rearrange your apps
  • Create a folder (for 2+ apps)
  • Take a picture and email it to yourself
  • Take a screen shot
  • Create a short (20 – 30 second) movie starring a colleague using the Camera App
  • Go to Settings>General>Accessibility & turn on Speak Selection
  • Go to Settings>Accesibility>Zoom (great for classroom use)
  • Use 4 & 5 finger gestures to switch between applications

    • Pedagogy (internet access)
    • Internet-proofing your tests

  • Turning web pages into PDF’s (10 min)
  • Setting up communications (10 min)

    • Bump for sharing contact info and images
    • Procedures for day to day support: phone numbers and texting
    • Discussion channels going forward
  • BREAK (10 min)
  • Time for exploration, play, lesson design, and questions (120 min)
